Dolphin Encounters-Project B.E.A.C.H. is a non-profit association that provides unique marine educational opportunities to local school children and teachers. To fulfill this mission, Project B.E.A.C.H. has developed innovative methods of reaching out to the community in an effort to develop a greater appreciation of our beautiful environment and to bridge the gap in the lack of resources available to schools in the Bahamas. Dolphin Encounters has been the major organizing committee for International Coastal Clean Up Day in the Bahamas for many years. September 25th, 2010 has been designated as International Coastal Cleanup Day (ICC). The Coastal Cleanup is the largest event of its kind held globally on an annual basis.

Last year, in the Bahamas alone 1,029 volunteers cleared 11,486 pounds of trash from waterways and surrounding areas from Malcom Park and BoneFish Pond National Park. We hope that members of the community will again be out in full force again this year to take an active role in caring for their marine environment.
